Fort Myers, Florida: Austan Cristiaan is a 5-foot-7, 145-pound Class of 2028 quarterback who is ranked as the No. 1 overall pro-style quarterback in his class by QB Hit List, the largest quarterback recruiting website in the United States.
The sixth-grade quarterback is already on tour in the “Southland” this fall, taking unofficial visits to three SEC schools with one final road trip slated for late November.
While prospects can’t take official visits to universities until their junior season of high school, where flights, rental cars, hotels, and other expenditures are paid for by the school, universities can still showcase their state-of-the-art campuses and the ‘bright lights’ of their stadiums by utilizing special tours, on-field access, and coach meet-and-greets for student-athletes.
Players are also allowed to invite two guests to accompany them.
The 12-year-old Fort Myers, FL product who stars at Canterbury School and the Mastrole Passing Academy was ‘on hand’ at Auburn University on Oct. 30 to watch the Tigers 31-20 win against Ole Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Cristiaan and Auburn Tigers' star quarterback Bo Nix pose for a shot.
"From Tiger Walk, to the pregame, to the team running out of the tunnel, it was unreal. The coaches are amazing and very welcoming. Auburn is building a new practice facility, and I can't wait to see that finished," he said.
Cristiaan visited Texas A&M to take in their 20-3 triumph over Auburn on the following weekend on Sat. Nov, 6.
Cristiaan poses for a picture with college football journalism legend Paul Finebaum, host of ESPN/SEC Network's Paul Finebaum Show.
"A&M was unreal. 109,000 in attendance. I loved meeting Jimbo Fisher, and he had great things to say about my game. The gamed day atmosphere was electric, and the football facility is the best that I have seen. Looking forward to returning to see the Aggies soon," he said.
Before that, the quarterback also visited Lane Kiffin’s University of Mississippi Rebels on Oct. 9 for their 52-51 homecoming triumph over Arkansas.
Cristiaan scans into the distance with an Auburn student-athlete following a Tigers win. Does he envision a future at Auburn, or perhaps another SEC school? Only time will tell.
He’s not just finished, yet, though…
Austan and Auburn Tigers' legend mascot, Aubie. Aubie fires up over 80,000 fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium for each and every Tigers' home game and the award-winning mascot is known for his electric and entertaining personality.
Cristiaan also has a visit scheduled to the University of Tennessee in his Rolodex to witness first-year head coach Josh Heupel and the 5-4 Volunteers’ “fastest offense in America” ‘do war’ with the South Alabama Jaguars on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN.
